Hollis
An attractive, upscale residential and farming community, Hollis is known for its fruit and vegetable orchards, its historic village center, and its characteristic New England festivals, such as the Hollis Strawberry Festival, the Hollis Apple Festival, and the Old Home Days festival, celebrating its past. Residents enjoy conservation land, outdoor activities, and children’s programs at the Beaver Brook Association’s conservation area, located on Ridge Road. The town elects its officials and approves budgets at the annual Town Meeting.
Hollis is located in Hillsborough County, just west of Nashua and about 30 minutes from Manchester. Surrounding towns include Nashua, Brookline, Amherst, and, to the south, Pepperell, Massachusetts.
At the last census (2010), its population was about 7,684. According to city-data.com, Hollis’s estimated median household income in 2012 was $120,162, and its estimated median home value was $464,751.
Hollis’s two elementary schools serve grades K-6, while middle- and high-school students attend schools with Brookline students in the Hollis-Brookline Cooperative School District.
